CABBAGE; The Cabbage Tree is found on farmland amongst scrub and around wetland areas. Maori once used the Cabbage Tree for food and the leaves for weaving.

TOI TOI; A common sight in coastal areas - they have fluffy white flower heads with cream and green hues.

PIKO - (PIKO PIKO -FERN FROND)

The fern shoot can be found growing in damp shady areas of New Zealand Native bush. They are pale green in colour with brown speckles and are picked for food before the leaves unfold.
